NBA & Fundamentals

After watching the Celtics lose to the Heat tonight I was upset with the fact that basketball fundamentals weren't shown here. As a little kid when I learned to play basketball one of the key things I learned was that going in and making a layup will usually come up with a foul. I understood that Rondo was having problems with his arm because of the elbow injury, but if he can't take the shot he shouldn't have been in the game. Throughout the series I had seen the Celtics go in the paint and then pass the ball back out. That's not the smartest play. I wonder if they sit and watch themselves like football players do. They should have been watching the game because they would have seen that there were smarter options to the way they played. I was happy with the way the Celtics stuck to the game till the last quarter. Hopefully the Heat lose somewhere along the way! (:
