It's NFL draft weekend! As a football fan I am happy to see that we're talking about something other than the lockout. Sportcenter has made a big deal of the lockout and the lawsuit. It's a topic almost every night even when there's really nothing new to say about it. Yes, the lockout was lifted then, it was reinstated. That's about all I will say about the lockout because I just want my regular season of football back.
The draft has been pretty straight forward with some players getting picked later than predicted, but there have been some surprises. Although, I'm not huge on college football, Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) was not a surprise first pick. When a team badly needs a replacement QB and they pick a guy from the draft to lead the team it's a make or break situation. Many people tweeted me saying that now their teams would be the greatest because of the college stars their team had drafted. I'm not sure if people understand how preseason works. Players get traded all the time. Things really aren't completely set in stone. Another thing is these college players have some work to do. They have to get on a diet plan, learn new plays, grow more in every way. For people to think that rookies are going to make or break their team I guess they will have to see on opening day.
My team, the Indianapolis Colts, have made some picks in the draft that I approve of, but we will see what happens after the trades and all of that. I hope all of your teams have been making great picks and if you're rooting for a team that is in great need for a QB I hope you find him!
Lastly, I am in love with how sharp these players look at the draft. I know they do this every year. I understand that everyone wants to look sharp when walking across the stage on television, but I still like to point it out. There was also a lot of bow ties. Did some designer tell them those were the it thing to wear? It was cute on some and dorky on others. That's my little fashion police note!

Introduction
Hi everyone! Welcome to Ellie Grace on Sports. This is my blog where I talk about sports. Yes, I am a girl. That shouldn't steer you away instead that should make you want to read to see if I know my stuff. I love sports of all kinds and I like to be up to date on the scandals as well. I might call a football player good looking, but I will also say if he's playing like crap. I hope everyone enjoys what I have to say. I will be sure to keep everyone entertained.
