Where Do The Sports Fans Go?
I've been asking myself this question for two days. I've been thinking about it since the NBA playoffs were starting, but I didn't want to think about it. Basketball and football are the two biggest sports in America. If basketball is over and the NFL is still in a lockout. Where do the fans go? There's a big gap. I'm ready to hear about training camps and trades. I need my sports. I need my football. I guess I am going to have to write someone a letter because this needs to change. UGGGGHHHHHH! I just want football. I'd really give basketball to have football back. I'm about to turn sport center on and see if there's any update. Please let them be closer to a decision. PRAY TO THE SPORTS GODS!

MAVS!
I told so many people that the mavericks were going to win this thing and they won it! I believed in them and they pulled through for me. Terry was really the MVP of the last two games. He was really pushing his team. Dirk and Kidd really needed this championship. I am so happy that they've gotten their rings! CONGRATS MAVS!

Can't Stand Shawn Marion
I really don't care how badly Lebron played in Game 5. It was weird not hearing his name, but I didn't mind. The person that mostly got on my nerves the whole game was Shawn Marion. I don't understand why no one picked up on him missing almost all of his shots. Every time someone decided to give him the ball he would take it and do something stupid. I don't think he deals well under pressure because I have seen throughout this series he can never make his dunks or layups. I understand that the team is trying to do things as a team, but Terry should never pass to Marion after he can't make his shot consistently. If you consistently don't make the shot and coach doesn't take you out, I will not pass to you. At that moment I don't trust you to make the shots I need to help the team win, so you won't get the ball.

Sports Announcers SUCK!
I'm officially so done with sports announcers. The NBA finals have been the worst things to watch on television for me. Seriously, I don't understand why the sports announcers chose to do their jobs the way they do them. They'll praise a player and then, once the player has made a couple of mistakes they'll bash the player for never being able to stick with his shot or whatever. THEN! The player will come back and be amazing and the announcers will again flop their stories. I can't stand that. I can't stand either when the sports announcers bash the ref for doing his job and then, talk about how players should become friends with the refs. There are so many things that I didn't approve of with these announcers. They are sooooo opinionated. I just want to watch the game. Tell me what's going on in the game! They'll go on and on about something, but it's nothing about what 's happening on the screen. AND THEN! there's this new feature where they have the game on a small screen and someone else is talking on a small screen. I cannot stand that. I don't care what the coach said in the locker room. I want to watch the game. It's nothing life changing either. It's not top news. No one, absolutely no one looks forward to those double screen moments. It's just, OMG! I can't stand this!
I could go on all day ranting, but I won't. Series is tied 2-2 which is very exciting.

Ready for Football
The title says it all. I'm tired of basketball. I want the Mavs to win and I want the Heat to lose, but really I want football. I am so ready for the NFL season to start. I really hope they figure out this money deal before the series is over. This would make my life so wonderful. Basketball is getting really old. I tired of the same faces night after night. I'm tired of sports with series. I need to get back to the tough hardcore sport that makes me appreciate big beastly dudes.
I'm currently watching the Mavs game... Let me tell you I am bored. I am extremely bored. The Mavs aren't doing anything. Basketball really loses it's kick to me. I wish it didn't. I just want to whine right now. I am in a whining mood. Please let football start soon. I need some NFL in my life.

NBA finals 2011, Who Needs This Win More?
Dallas needs this win more. Dallas has old veterans that deserve a championship. Miami can come out next year and win the championship. I understand they've come so far and had to deal with some much negative press, but Miami, but that on themselves. They made press by having Lebron make a show about his decision. Seriously? It's one decision. Not that many people care. If you're going to take up television time then, you're gonna have to deal with the pressure that comes with saying because you've got this team together you'll win a championship.
My mother believes that I am too hard on Lebron because it really was a hopeless team in Cleveland, but he didn't have to be showy. In the olden days, I don't think anyone would have been as showy as he was. It was too much for me. I don't like attention seeking things or people that grab at the press. Lebron is an amazing player, but I will not ever put him in the same category as Michael Jordan.
Whoever plays the toughest and score the most points deserves to win in the end. That's what the game is all about. I just hope that Dallas, the right team, wins. (:

Druggies in Sports
Over the past years many stars after their prime have come out saying that they've used illegal drugs sometime in their careers. To me, this after the fact apology hurts the most. I would have been happier had the programs that test these athletes come forward and say before the race, or the game, or the match that they've found an illegal substances in their tests OR THE PLAYERS JUST DON'T DO IT! There are many reasons in my eyes why this hurts and why it's annoying.
I was in love with the famous track star Marion Jones. She was black like me and she was a runner as was I. I looked up to her and I even had her poster on my wall as a kid. I was so proud of her whenever she ran. I believe that I would or could be that fast one day. Then, she comes out and says she used illegal drugs and I was crushed. It was the truth, but I didn't want to hear it. I didn't want to believe that it could be true, but it was. Now, Lance Armstrong, a man who has won so many bike races is being accused of blood fusion. Again, I loved this guy. I think he is a wonderful athlete and a pretty good guy. My whole thinking about him has changed. I used to wear those Livestrong bracelets. I remember everyone in my high school going crazy over those things. He does so many other good things that for me to look at the bad is hard.
With most things and most people I like to know what I'm dealing with before. I would have rather been a little kid seeing this Marion Jones lady on TV getting into trouble with the law or Lance Armstrong or any of the many players in sports around the country getting into trouble for the illegal drug use before they became great. These athletes probably could have done without the drugs. They could have been great without them, but they started using and they didn't stop. Being the best is only great when you can tell the kids that you did it without drugs. You did it with your own will power. You did it with great coaches.
It's embarrassing. It's embarrassing for the athlete because now everyone sees them as a fraud, but it's embarrassing to the doctors and the nurses and whoever works at these testing centers. Someone paid you off, did they hold you at gun point? What happened that these doctors didn't tell when they saw these test and didn't report them? But it also says something about the althlete because if he is an advance drug user someone might not even have found anything when looking at his blood or urine. This means that we need to step up our testing. All of these cases are coming out years later after everyone thinks these great stars are really great and not frauds.
For me, it's too late to really take away their gold medals. I will still see that person as a gold medal winner. I will always see that person as the best in the world. There will always be that person standing next to me to remind me that it didn't count, but you can't erase those memories from my head. It's just so hard. And for the second place winner that now gets the gold medal...great. Do they get a ceremony on TV? Does the world know their name? Do they get endorsed by the biggest names in sports? Probably not.
I hope that these doctors and technology advances, so we can figure out the fakes from the real athletes. I feel like there will be others coming forward or getting accused. I just wish that athletes would stick to playing the sport the good ol' fashioned way.
